Train hits person in Wheaton

Metra police are investigating a train hitting a pedestrian Thursday morning in downtown Wheaton.
Wheaton police and fire received calls around 9:31 a.m. The pedestrian was struck near Front and Cross streets, authorities said.
Trains on the Union Pacific West line were delayed due to the investigation.
At 11:55 a.m. Thursday, authorities said railroad tracks in downtown Wheaton were reopened and that police had left the area.
