Park Ridge firefighters rescue 2 dogs from late Saturday house fire

Park Ridge firefighters rescued two dogs from a house fire late Saturday that caused $200,000 in damage to the home.

Firefighters were called to the home at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday for a report of a fire in the basement of a home on the 2100 block of Parkside Drive.

Residents had escaped unharmed, but notified firefighters the family’s two dogs were trapped inside. Firefighters were able to locate the pets and remove them safely.

The fire was ruled accidental. But the home was rendered uninhabitable.
