Enjoy Vernon Hills Days July 16-19
Food, rides, live music and more will come to Century Park when Vernon Hills Days returns Thursday through Sunday, July 16-19.
Before the festival starts on Thursday, the official kickoff of Vernon Hills Days is the Police Chase Twilight 5K run at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 15. Registration is $45 and proceeds will be donated to the Veterans Path To Hope. Register at runsignup.com.
The carnival will run from 6-10 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 1-10 p.m. Saturday and 1-8 p.m. Sunday. Sensory-friendly carnival hours will be held from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, and 1-2 p.m. Sunday. Unlimited ride wristband specials will be available from 6-10 p.m. Thursday for $35, 6-10 p.m. Friday for $40, 1-5 p.m. Saturday for $40 and 2-7 p.m. Sunday for $40.
Musical entertainment will include Radio Gaga at 7 p.m. Thursday, ARRA at 7 p.m. and Blood, Sweat & Tears at 9 p.m. Friday; Hello Weekend at 7 p.m. and James Barker Band at 9 p.m. Saturday; and The Boy Band Night at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Other activities include bingo, fireworks at 9 p.m. Thursday, a DJ dance party at 10:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday, a police dog demonstration at 2 p.m. Saturday and a bags tournament at 2 p.m. Sunday. A Kids Zone will offer free crafts and activities from 1-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, including a petting zoo and pony rides Sunday.
Food vendors scheduled to take part include Tamales Diana, Up In Smoke, Barones Restaurant, Teriyaki Madness, Supermercado San Juan, JAM Concessions, Lee Concessions, No Manches, Bee's Pizza, Blackhawk BBQ, Windsor Ice Cream, and Kona Ice.
