Schaumburg opens 70th anniversary exhibit at library with reception, concert

The village of Schaumburg opened a special commemorative exhibition Monday evening celebrating its 70th anniversary and the nation’s 250th.

The exhibit runs through September at the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Road. It highlights the village’s growth over the past seven decades through photographs, an anniversary film, items from the 25-year time capsule at the Town Square clock tower, and other unique memorabilia.

The opening reception at the library was followed by an outdoor concert in Town Square featuring the John Mellencamp tribute band Mellancougar.
