Woodfield Mall to kick off July 4 weekend with ice cream party Friday

Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg will kick off the Independence Day weekend with an ice cream party Friday in celebration of America’s birthday.

While supplies last, visitors can enjoy a free scoop of Ben & Jerry's ice cream from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Grand Court.

Retailers in the mall also will be having special offers and discounts.

Simon+ loyalty members will receive exclusive benefits, including 25% off one item at select stores, and 2.5 points on their purchases.

Stores offering 25% off include Lindt Chocolate, MAC Cosmetics, Michael Kors, Timberland and Wondra.

Select retailers will have red, white and blue photo ops and exclusive America 250 offers.
