Free health diabetes, stroke risk assessments in Schaumburg

Ascension Illinois Community Health will host two free health risk assessment events for seniors at The Barn, 231 S. Civic Drive in Schaumburg.

Diabetes risk assessments will be offered from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 6. Stroke risk assessments will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3.

The quick, non-invasive assessments are designed to help participants better understand their risk factors and learn ways to support their long-term health and wellness. Each assessment takes approximately five minutes and includes a brief one-on-one conversation with a nurse about risk factors and prevention. A BMI measurement will be included as part of the diabetes assessment, and a blood pressure screening will be provided during the stroke assessment.
