Man charged with recording boy in Woodfield Mall restroom

A Rolling Meadows man was arrested Friday night after being accused of recording a boy urinating in a restroom at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg on his cellphone.

Samuel Nutt, 54, was charged with unauthorized videotaping of a minor, a class 3 felony, Schaumburg Police Commander Christy Lindhurst said.

Officers responded to the mall at about 8:30 p.m. for a report of a suspicious person recording a juvenile. They investigated and determined the man had used his cellphone to record the boy.

Nutt was granted pretrial release and placed on electronic monitoring. He was also ordered to stay away from children and Woodfield Mall.

His next hearing is July 24 at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
