Man arrested in Des Plaines after vandalism spree

A Chicago man who police say spray-painted graffiti on multiple buildings in Des Plaines was arrested over the weekend.

Aiden Galovich, 24, of the 6800 block of North Overhill Avenue, was charged with four counts of misdemeanor criminal defacement to property.

The vandalism spree began in late March, and the most recent example was reported June 16, Des Plaines police said Monday. The graffiti typically included a synonym for flatulence, police said.

Police suspected Galovich of the damage and found him Saturday afternoon in an SUV in a parking lot on the 1500 block of South Lee Street. During subsequent conversations with police, Galovich admitted damaging buildings in Des Plaines and Mount Prospect, police said.

Galovich was released after being charged.
