Lisle Community Band opens 2026 Concerts in Community Park Series
The Lisle Community Band invites the community to enjoy its 2026 summer concert season with free performances at the Lisle Park District Band Shell in Community Park, 1825 Short St., Lisle.
The annual “Concerts in Community Park” series will feature a wide variety of music, including Broadway favorites, marches, jazz, patriotic selections, movie music, and special guest soloists.
The season opens on Thursday, June 25 at 7:30 p.m. with music from The Beatles and “The King and I,” featuring alto saxophone soloist Scott Gumina.
On Thursday, July 2, the band will present a program of marches, jazz, a Chicago medley, and the “1812 Overture” at 7:30 p.m. The evening also will include a trumpet trio and the “Armed Forces Salute.”
The band also will perform at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, July 4, at the Lisle Heritage Society Ice Cream Social at the Depot Museum, 921 School St. This special patriotic concert will take place after the Fourth of July Parade.
The summer series continues on Thursday, July 9 at 7:30 p.m. with selections including the “William Tell Overture,” “Shenandoah,” a “James Bond Suite,” and music from “The Lion King.” The concert will feature flugelhorn soloist Bryan Miller in a tribute to Chuck Mangione.
The final concert of the season will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 16. It will include circus marches, folk music, “Remember Me” from “Coco,” and the music of John Williams. Vocalist Angel Spiccia will be the evening’s special featured performer.
Admission is free. Audience members are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Refreshments will be available for purchase from Allegretti’s Bakery and Cafe.
In case of rain or excessive heat, concerts will be moved to Lisle High School, 1800 Short St.
