LHS graduates earn national and international chemistry honors
Community High School District 128 has announced the outstanding achievements of recent Libertyville High School graduates Eli Cui and Eddy Li, who continue to distinguish themselves in the field of chemistry both nationally and internationally.
Earlier this year, both students were recognized as finalists in the Chicago Section of the American Chemical Society competition. Following that achievement, they advanced to the ACS National Exam, where Eli Cui earned Honors recognition, placing him among the nation’s top-performing chemistry students.
Eddy Li achieved an additional extraordinary accomplishment through the International Chemistry Competition, a rigorous three-round competition that drew participants from more than 90 countries. After advancing through all rounds to reach the international finals, Li finished in the top 2% of all participants worldwide and in the top 15% of finalists.
Most notably, Li was recognized as the highest-scoring student in the United States, earning Gold Honors and establishing himself among the world's top young chemistry scholars.
District 128 congratulates Cui and Li on these remarkable achievements, and for representing D128 with excellence on the national and international stage.
