Tour five Lisle area gardens at 24th annual Garden Gait
The Lisle Woman’s Club hosts its 24th annual Garden Gait on Sunday, June 14. The club’s major fundraising event will show five gardens at residences across Lisle with one just over the border in Naperville.
Attendees will see several varieties of native grasses which add elegance and delight all seasons, perennials over annuals that bloom through three seasons. Gardens teeming with fragrant bushes, and plants to attract butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and yellow finches, will attract you.
One garden features over 70 varieties of conifers and over 20 varieties of Japanese maples. A narrow stream runs through the trees and slips quietly into the koi pond.
Featured is a special viewing of the Grotto and Peace Garden at Villa St. Benedict.
Your day begins at the Museums at Lisle Station Park, 921 School St., where you will pick up your booklet directing you to the gardens. Visit the 25 raffle baskets each worth $150. You will want a raffle ticket for each basket!
Browse the garden themed craft fair with ceramic garden art, live plants from the Growing Place, and water features before you enjoy the gardens filled with beauty, whimsy, and charm.
Proceeds from Garden Gait fund the club’s philanthropic work in support of children and families in and around the community. Each spring, the club awards scholarships to graduating seniors and adult women returning to school.
Pre-sale tickets are $20 before 10 p.m. Saturday, June 13, via lislewomansclub.org/garden-gait. Tickets are $25 the day of the event. All online purchases can be picked up at the will-call table at Garden Gait.
