GLMV mayors focus on business growth

Connection, collaboration and community was the focus of the recent Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills Chamber of Commerce “Ask The Mayors” Annual Luncheon on May 14 at Mickey Finn’s Libertyville.

The event is the largest forum for the four GLMV mayors — Libertyville Mayor Donna Johnson, Vernon Hills Mayor Thom Koch, Green Oaks Mayor Bernard Wysocki, Mundelein Mayor Robin Meier — to address the local business community with village updates on local initiatives, economic development, answer questions and discuss plans for the year ahead. The inspiring afternoon included village presentations, a meet and greet and buffet lunch with over 100 of GLMV’s most influential business/municipal leaders.

Topics highlighted included new business and restaurant openings, Hawthorn Mall development, residential developments, village festivals and other happenings, business incentive grants, microshops, tourism and activities within the four diverse communities.

“We are always pleased to host this annual event to showcase our four dynamic villages and highlight their offerings,” GLMV President Scott Adams said.

Attendees also heard brief remarks from event sponsors Wintrust Banks, Advocate Condell Medical Center, Kona Ice, City of Hope Cancer Centers of Chicago and Lake County Workforce Development.
