Schaumburg to celebrate Bike Month again with June events

The village of Schaumburg encourages the public to celebrate Bike Month in June with a variety of fun activities.

The Fahrrad Tour von Schaumburg kicks off at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 7, from Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way. Participants will ride in a five-mile, police-guided tour. Lunch is served afterward. Riders must register online and sign a waiver on the park district’s website.

Schaumburg businesses and organizations are encouraged to assemble a team of four and participate in the 8th Annual Business Bike Classic where riders will record their June mileage. Teams must submit the online registration form.

The 3rd Annual Friends and Family Bike Classic encourages residents to form a team of four and record all bicycling activity during the month of June. Teams must submit the registration form.

The village will celebrate Bike to Metra Day from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 24 at the Schaumburg Metra Station, 2000 S. Springinsguth Road. No registration is required.
