Park Ridge police seek video in investigation of battery that left a teen seriously injured

Residents in a Park Ridge neighborhood are being asked to review door bell or surveillance camera footage from Monday evening as police investigate a battery that resulted in serious injuries to a teen.

Police said the location is unknown but is believed to have occurred in a neighborhood between the areas of Oakton Street and Prospect Avenue and Cumberland and Devon avenues.

Residents are asked to review video between 6:30 and 8:15 p.m. Monday, May 18 that may show one or two male teens walking in the area or involved in a physical altercation.

A 14-year old boy suffered a brain injury when his skull was shattered, his father, Sean Connolly, told, ABC-7. Family members were going door to door Friday in the neighborhood they believe the attack happened, according to the report.

The son was knocked unconscious, Connolly told ABC-7. The family is hoping video may have captured the beating and what blunt object was used to cause his son’s severe injuries.
