Naperville’s Cress Creek Garden Club gives scholarships and community donations

In May, the Cress Creek Garden Club of Naperville announced its 2026 recipients of their scholarship program.

The following students will be honored at a scholarship luncheon on June 12, 2026: Gianna Cannek, majoring in earth and climate science; Aidan Dwyer, majoring in landscape architecture; Julie Hamman, studying floral shop management; Emily Lubek, majoring in ecology and evolutionary biology; Isabelle Nobrega, majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in environmental science; Jay Schroeder, studying environmental science; and Hannah Wilson, studying environmental horticulture with a minor in landscape design.

In addition to the scholarship program, the club gave $25,000 to area nonprofit organizations in the community which included: Charity Blooms, College of DuPage, Conservation Foundation, DuPage Care Center, Garden Works Project, Indian Prairie Education Foundation District 204, Little Friends, NAMI DuPage, Judd Kendall Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3873, NEF Naperville 203 Education Foundation, Normal Moments, SCARCE, and We Grow Dreams.
