Man fires gun during domestic dispute; no one injured
Lake in the Hills police on early Saturday arrested a man who fired a gun in his house during a domestic dispute. No one was injured.
Nestor Ramirez Sr., 50, of the 0-100 block of Manchester Court in Lake in the Hills, was taken to McHenry County Jail and charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, a felony, and a misdemeanor charge of reckless conduct, according to officials.
Police said they responded to the address shortly before 12:30 a.m. Saturday. They met with family members outside who said people were still arguing inside.
Officers got all but Ramirez Sr. safely out of the house and off the property.
Ramirez, who had not fired the weapon at anyone during the altercation, initially refused to leave the house, police said. A trained negotiator was brought in to convince him to surrender.
Officers from Algonquin, Crystal Lake, Huntley and the Kane County Sheriff’s Office assisted Lake in the Hills Police in the matter.
