Mary Robinson receives P.E.O. STAR Scholarship

The P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter JM of Mount Prospect has announced that Mary Robinson, a senior at Prospect High School, has been selected to receive a $2,500 STAR Scholarship from the P.E.O. Sisterhood.

The competitive STAR Scholarship recognizes exceptional young women who demonstrate excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular involvement, community service, and potential for future success. Mary was selected for her outstanding achievements and commitment both inside and outside the classroom.

Founded in 1869, the P.E.O. Sisterhood (Philanthropic Educational Organization) has been dedicated to motivating, educating, and celebrating women for more than 155 years. Since its inception, the nonprofit organization has helped more than 129,000 women pursue their educational goals by providing approximately $462 million in grants, scholarships, awards and loans. The Sisterhood is also the primary supporter of Cottey College.

With more than half a million members across the United States and Canada, the P.E.O. Sisterhood brings together women who are passionate about advancing educational opportunities for women while offering encouragement, mentorship, and community support.

Chapter JM has served the Mount Prospect community since its organization in 1959.
