Mount Prospect Garden Club to learn pest control strategies from garden coach
On Tuesday, May 12, the Mount Prospect Garden Club will learn about “Controlling Garden Marauders” with Mark Lyons.
Aphids eating your cucumbers? Squirrels stealing your corn? Rabbits munching on your lettuce? Can they be stopped? Yes, they can.
Mark Lyons, an experienced garden coach, will teach you strategies and tactics to stop these invaders from destroying your garden and stealing the fruits and vegetables you worked so hard to grow.
Mark Lyons is a Master Gardener, consultant and educator. He travels around the country to deliver dynamic presentations on vegetable and mushroom gardening, harvest preservation, and home cheesemaking.
The meeting will be 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Farley Room at Mount Prospect Village Hall, 50 S. Emerson St. It begins with social time at 9:30 a.m. and the business meeting at 10 a.m., followed by the speaker at 11 a.m.
The club meets on the second Tuesday of the month, September through May. For information, visit gcmp.weebly.com.
