Poplar Creek Library to host Pokémon event May 3

The Poplar Creek Public Library District will host Poké Palooza, a free, all-ages Pokémon-themed event, from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, at its main branch, 1405 S. Park Ave., Streamwood.

The event will feature a video game tournament, Pokémon-themed games, crafts and opportunities for attendees to connect with other fans. Free Pokémon trading cards will be available while supplies last.

“We’re thrilled to bring Poké Palooza to the community and create a fun, high-energy event for Pokémon fans of all ages,” Executive Director Jose Maldonado said. “Poké Palooza provides a fun, accessible way for families and fans of all ages to engage with the library.”

The library partnered with Thunder Comics to support the event.
