Join Gary UMC in Wheaton for World Labyrinth Day
Take part in World Labyrinth Day, Saturday, May 2 at Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton.
World Labyrinth Day is an annual international event held on the first Saturday of May. People all over the world will be walking labyrinths at 1 p.m. local time to pray for peace. Join labyrinth facilitator Cathy Smith in the labyrinth in the church courtyard, 224 N. Main St. All are welcome.
Walking a labyrinth can be an inward and outward journey where we can recognize the presence of God and find unity and wholeness. In a labyrinth you are never lost. You are always on the path leading into or back out of the center. Unlike a maze which has numerous paths and is designed to confuse, a labyrinth helps you center yourself and find clarity and peace.
The Wheaton church has vibrant music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions. Sunday worship is at 9 and 11:11 a.m. In-between services, there’s Sunday school for all ages, a coffee fellowship hour, plus the chapel is available for prayer and reflection.
