Repairs completed to broken gas pipe near Schaumburg businesses

Nicor was continuing to restore services to affected businesses Monday afternoon after the repair of a gas pipe broken during construction in a parking lot on National Parkway in Schaumburg in the late morning.

The pipe was broken at about 11:30 a.m. during digging and no injuries were reported, Schaumburg police said.

The Schaumburg Fire Department was closely monitoring gas fumes during the repair and temporarily evacuated Duly, Panera and Fat Rosie’s on the 800 block of North Meacham Road because they were downwind.
