Downtown Wheaton celebrates new outdoor dining season with Hale Street tents, live music

The Hale Street tents will soon pop up in downtown Wheaton, kicking off a new season of al fresco dining.

Since the pandemic, the tents have allowed restaurants to share outdoor dining space up and down the block of Hale between Front and Wesley streets. The Downtown Wheaton Association provides the event, with live music on select days.

The block is set to close to traffic starting in the late evening on Sunday, April 26, in preparation for the return of the tents on Friday, May 1. It will remain closed to traffic into early fall.

A new addition this year: Stonehouse Market just opened a home decor and gift store on the same block.
