Daily Herald Athlete of the Month nominees for March

Cook County: Abby Ramel, Rolling Meadows, girls basketball.

Ramel led the Mustangs downstate where she had 19 points and 10 rebounds against Loyola in the Class 4A semifinals and 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals in the third-place game against Belleville East.

DuPage County: Jayden Wright, Benet, boys basketball.

The Daily Herald All-Area captain in DuPage County, Wright did all the little things to lead Benet to a second-place finish in Class 4A.

Kane County: Savannah Lynch, St. Edward, girls basketball.

Lynch had 21 points and 6 rebounds in the Class 2A semifinals against Byron. In the third-place game she added 20 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals against Pleasant Plains for the fourth-place Green Wave.

Lake County: Lily Fisher, Libertyville, girls basketball.

The Daily Herald All-Area captain in Lake County, Fisher had 22 points and 13 rebounds in a sectional final loss to Carmel. A double-double machine, she also had 18 points and 12 rebounds against Huntley in the sectional semifinal.
