Woman accused of stealing $13,000 from elementary school PTO

A Woodridge woman has been accused of stealing more than $13,000 from an elementary school parent-teacher organization.

Amanda Piasecki, 39, of the 8000 block of Janes Avenue, is charged with two counts of felony theft, according to DuPage County court records.

One count accuses her of stealing more than $10,000 between May 1, 2024, and Sept. 4, 2025.

The second count accuses her of stealing more than $500 between Jan. 16, 2025, and June 18, 2025.

According to a news release from the DuPage County state’s attorney’s office, Piasecki was the treasurer of the Goodrich Elementary School PTO in Woodridge. The news release says $13,062 was taken.

On Thursday, Piasecki turned herself in and appeared in court. The charges are non-detainable, so she was released on her own recognizance.

A judge ordered her to stay away from Goodrich and to have no contact with four women who are officers in the school’s PTO.

The news release contained a statement from the PTO. “This individual no longer has access to PTO finances, and the board will continue to cooperate fully with authorities. We remain committed to transparency, accountability, and the continued support of our school community,” the statement said.
