Mount Prospect Woman’s Club and GFWC Illinois offer scholarships

The Mount Prospect Woman’s Club GFWC will be awarding one $1,500 merit-based college scholarship to a graduating high school senior who is a resident of Mount Prospect and planning to attend a college, university, community college or trade school in Illinois. Applications are available at high school counseling offices or by emailing mountprospectwc@yahoo.com. The deadline for applications is April 1. Late applications will not be accepted.

Scholarships in the amount of $1,500 are also available through the Illinois Federation of Women’s Clubs. Students who reside in Illinois and are planning to major in art, music, drama, education, health/wellness careers, civic engagement, environmental studies or a vocational field at a college, university, community college or trade school in Illinois are encouraged to fill out a scholarship application. Applications are available at high school counseling offices or at gfwcillinois.org/gfwc-il-scholarship-information. For information, email scholarshipsifwc@gmail.com. The Mount Prospect Woman’s Club GFWC, a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, is actively seeking new members who are interested in becoming a part of a philanthropic organization dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service. Members are diverse in age, interests and experiences, but are united by a desire to create positive change in the community. In 2027, the club will celebrate its 100th year of service to the Mount Prospect community. Club meetings are held at noon on the first Tuesday of the month at the Mount Prospect Village Hall and include a luncheon buffet and entertainment or a speaker.
