Archdiocese of Chicago Parishes host Friday Fish Frys during the Lenten Season

Ash Wednesday, which fell on Feb. 18, marked the beginning of the 2026 Lenten season, a solemn 40-day period devoted to reflection, prayer, spiritual preparation and fasting before Easter. Catholics abstain from eating meat on Fridays during Lent to commemorate of the sacrifice of Christ. There is a long-standing tradition of parishes offering fish dinners on Fridays during Lent.

Below is a list of select archdiocesan parishes hosting Fish Frys.
