Body of missing Downers Grove man found

Police found the body of a missing Downers Grove man Friday in a pond.
Mark Sadelski, 47, was reported missing Jan. 9, after walking away from his home near 71st and Woodward Avenue. At that time, police said he had an unspecified condition that put him in danger.
A piece of his clothing was found 11 days later next to a retention pond in the 7300 block of Woodward Avenue in Woodridge, about two blocks away from his house. The pond was searched Jan. 21 without results, and was suspended due to icy conditions.
Friday afternoon, police and firefighters found Sadelski’s body in the pond.
The DuPage County coroner will determine the cause and manner of death.
