Two injured in crash near Gilberts school
Two people were injured Thursday in a single-vehicle crash in Gilberts and had to be cut out of the car, authorities said.
The Rutland Dundee Fire Department responded to the area of Freeman Road and Galligan Road on Feb. 19 for a reported crash and located the vehicle about 1,000 feet off the road in a wooded area behind Gilberts Elementary School.
Firefighters found two occupants trapped in the vehicle. The occupants were treated by paramedics while being removed from the vehicle and then transported to local hospitals.
Due to the inaccessibility of the vehicle, a medical helicopter was called to the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
