Schaumburg A.M. Rotary to host Feb. 26 soup tasting fundraiser to support local families

The Rotary Club of Schaumburg A.M. invites the community to come together for an evening of flavor, fun and philanthropy at its annual Souper Bowl of Soups Cook-Off Fundraiser, taking place Thursday, Feb. 26, at its new and larger location: the Chicago Marriott Schaumburg, at 50 N. Martingale Road, Schaumburg.

From 5:30-7:30 p.m., guests will taste a variety of delicious soups prepared by 12 local restaurants, and students from all five District 211 high schools, who are enrolled in the district’s culinary program. New this year are desserts provided by Harper College students enrolled in its culinary program.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry and other areas of need identified by the Rotary Club. Attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to the event that will also be donated to the food pantry.

“This event is more than a meal, it’s a celebration of community,” Club President Tom Cunningham said. “Every spoonful helps us uplift neighbors facing food insecurity and fund meaningful projects that make Schaumburg stronger.”

Event sponsors include Gold Sponsor Baird & Warner Schaumburg/Tom Cunningham, Broker Associate, and Silver Sponsors DJ’s Auto Service Center in Schaumburg and Nicholas & Associates based in Mount Prospect.

Also new this year is a Community Vendor Expo where attendees can meet local businesses, learn about their services and make meaningful connections.

Participating restaurants include Bella Napoli, Big Fish’s Icehouse, Chandler’s Chophouse & Grille, Hocco The Indian Kitchen, I Smell Bacon BBQ & Pub, Little Greek Fresh Grill, Moretti’s, Renate’s German Restaurant, Schaumburg Marriott, Sweet Orange Pancakes & Café, Uncle Bill’s Diner and Village Tavern & Grill in addition to Conant, Fremd, Hoffman Estates, Palatine and Schaumburg High Schools.

Tickets are available for $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Admission includes soup tastings, and desserts, plus the chance to vote for your favorite soup. Sponsorship opportunities, a cash bar, free parking and raffle prizes will also be featured.

The Rotary Club of Schaumburg A.M. is part of Rotary International, a global network of volunteers dedicated to service above self. Funds raised will support local initiatives including hunger relief, youth leadership and character development programs, and the club’s skilled trades focused vocational scholarship program.
