Andretti Indoor Karting & Games in Schaumburg getting close to opening

The long-anticipated Andretti Indoor Karting & Games in Schaumburg has set Tuesday, March 10 as its expected opening day.

The 25-year-old company has 12 existing locations in the U.S. with the Schaumburg venue to be its first in Illinois.

At 100,000 square feet, the facility on the west side of the Schaumburg Renaissance Convention Center Hotel will anchor the first phase of a new entertainment district in Schaumburg on the east side of Meacham Road north of I-90 and south of Algonquin Road.

The entertainment venue at 1441 Thoreau Drive will feature high-speed electric Superkarts on a multilevel track, a state-of-the-art arcade, professional racing simulators, Hologate VR, Hyperdeck VR, a two-story laser tag arena, Spark Interactive Duckpin Bowling and a 7D Xperience Motion Theater.

Like the existing locations, this one will offer a handcrafted dining menu, full bar and in-house gourmet catering with event and meeting space able to host groups from 10 to 2,000 people.

Schaumburg trustees approved construction of the facility in November 2023 and the groundbreaking occurred in September 2024. The private development is accompanied by a six-level, 900-space public parking deck to serve it and the rest of the entertainment district to come.

Both projects are set to occupy space once expected to house a proposed performing arts center when the convention center and hotel opened nearly 20 years ago.
