Fox Lake man facing gun charges after spat with neighbor over unleashed dog
A Fox Lake man is facing weapons charges following an argument with his neighbor about the man’s dog being off leash in the neighborhood.
Christopher Baugher, 52, of the 6800 block of State Park Road, is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon without a concealed carry license, a felony, and aggravated assault with a firearm, a misdemeanor.
Fox Lake police responded to Baugher’s neighbor’s home Thursday after the neighbor reported Baugher had “brandished” the firearm during the argument.
Police said Baugher and his neighbor were arguing about Baugher’s dog being off its leash in a common community area when Baugher went to his home and returned to the argument with a concealed gun.
Police obtained a firearms restraining order against Baugher and seized several firearms and ammunition from the home. Baugher is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition until his charges are adjudicated.
Baugher was granted pretrial release Friday and is due back in court Feb. 18.
