Wheaton church to host National Day of Racial Healing
On Sunday, Jan. 18, Bethel New Life Church in Wheaton will host a special celebration for National Day of Racial Healing. It will begin at 1 p.m. at the church, 1771 Wiesbrook Road. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Craig Howard, Executive Presbyter for the Chicago Presbytery. Other guests will include Milas Armour, a well-known soloist in the Chicago area, and Achkei Wilson, a mime artist. This year. the theme is: “The Rhythm of Our Humanity,” focusing on shared stories, joy, courage, and connection to move toward healing and build a more just world, emphasizing that joy is a practice that unites us.”
The National Day of Racial Healing was created in 2017 by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation to bring people together to contemplate shared values, create a blueprint for healing from racism, inspire collective action, and create a more just and equitable world. For information, visit bnlcwheaton.org.
