Juvenile hit by car in Schaumburg on Christmas evening

Schaumburg police are continuing to investigate the injury of a young pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle on Christmas.

The juvenile has remained hospitalized since but was expected to be released Monday, police said.

Officers responded to the crash at 5:25 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of West Schaumburg Road and Knollwood Drive, where the child had been walking alone.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured, police said.
