Juvenile hit by car in Schaumburg on Christmas evening

Schaumburg police are continuing to investigate the injury of a juvenile pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle Christmas evening.

The parents responded to the hospital after being contacted. The juvenile has remained hospitalized since, but was expected to be released Monday, police said.

Officers responded to the accident at 5:25 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of West Schaumburg Road and Knollwood Drive, where the juvenile had been walking alone.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the collision, police said.
