Candidate forum for 8th Congressional District Democratic primary set for Jan. 15

A live forum for the eight candidates in the Democratic primary for Illinois’ 8th Congressional District seat currently held by Raja Krishnamoorthi of Schaumburg has been scheduled for Jan. 15 in Schaumburg.

According to the organizers, all candidates have been invited but have until Jan. 5 to confirm their attendance. They are Junaid Ahmed, Yasmeen Bankole, Melissa Bean, Sanjyot Dunung, Neil Khot, Kevin Morrison, Dan Tully and Ryan Vetticad.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. Jan. 15 at National India Hub, 930 National Parkway in Schaumburg.

Space is limited, and an RSVP is required to attend in person by visiting tinyurl.com/48svusjz.

The live debate will be moderated by Ishaan Srivastava. There will be a livestream on the Ishaan S. Show YouTube Channel at youtube.com/@TheIshaansshow. When attendees RSVP, they will be given an opportunity to submit candidate questions to the moderator for consideration.

The seat is also being sought by four Republicans. The candidates in the GOP primary, also on March 17, are Kevin Ake, Jennifer Davis, Herbert Hebein and Mark Rice.
