Streamwood police take suspect into custody after hourslong standoff at home

Streamwood police took a suspect into custody just before midnight Wednesday after an hourslong standoff at a residence near the intersection of Yellowstone and Kings Canyon drives.

From about 4 p.m., officers were on the scene and advising motorists to avoid the area and neighbors to stay indoors.

ABC 7 reported residents saw officers in tactical gear with rifles, a command vehicle and drones in the air. Video was shared of police using a loudspeaker to try to communicate with the suspect.
