Three people killed in fiery crash on I-290

Three people were killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash late Wednesday night on I-290 near Itasca, Illinois State Police said.

The driver of the westbound vehicle went off the road near the southbound I-355 ramp and crashed into a bridge support column, causing the vehicle to burst into flames and killing two adults and a child inside.

The crash occurred at approximately 11:40 p.m. and closed the westbound lanes until 4:14 a.m., police said.

Authorities have not released the names or ages of the victims.
