Bartlett man charged in connection with stabbing, robbery in Schaumburg

A Bartlett man has been charged in connection with a Monday night robbery and stabbing in Schaumburg that involved two different victims at nearby locations.

Jack R. Carbery, 22, of Bartlett, was charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery with great bodily harm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and robbery.

At about 9:10 p.m., Schaumburg police officers were called to the parking lot of a business at 738 E. Schaumburg Road for a reported stabbing. The officers provided first aid to a male victim before transporting him to a hospital.

Police determined the suspect in the stabbing was also involved in a robbery in the parking lot of the gas station at 780 E. Schaumburg Road. A female victim in that incident was also transported for treatment.

Schaumburg Police Commander Christy Lindhurst said that while preliminary information indicated the suspect and stabbing victim were acquaintances, the suspect and robbery victim didn’t appear to know each other.

Carbery was arrested at the scene, police said.
