Search warrant leads to child pornography charges in Wauconda

A 61-year-old Wauconda man was arrested Thursday after Wauconda police executed a search warrant prompted by multiple tips from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, officials said.

Ronald A. Justus, of the 300 block of Osage Street, is charged with four counts of child pornography, a felony, after the search uncovered numerous electronic devices containing child sex abuse materials, according to a news release from the Wauconda Police Department.

“Crimes involving the exploitation of children are among the most serious we investigate,” said David Wermes, chief of the Wauconda Police Department. “We will pursue every resource available to ensure those who prey on children are held accountable.”

The Island Lake Police Department, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office also participated in the search with the Wauconda Police Department investigators.
