Skokie man dies after being struck by car in Glenview

A 72-year-old Skokie man is dead after police in Glenview said he was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross Milwaukee Avenue Thursday afternoon.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office said Dale Gordon Christoffersen died from multiple blunt force injuries from a vehicle striking a pedestrian following a Friday morning autopsy.

Glenview police said Christoffersen was walking west across the southbound lanes of Milwaukee Avenue near the Michael Todd Terrace intersection at about 5:30 p.m. when he was struck.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was uninjured and remained at the scene, police said.

Police said the crash is still under investigation.
