‘Light up Wheaton’ holiday decorating contest returns

Haul out the holly, Wheaton.

Residents, businesses, houses of worship and community organizations are all invited to participate in “Light Up Wheaton,” a holiday decorating contest hosted by the city and the park district.

Registration is now open. All participants must provide a photo of their display (along with the address) by noon on Thursday, Dec. 11, to be considered for awards in three categories: Most Creative, People’s Choice, and Mayor’s Choice.

Photos and addresses will be shared on the city and Wheaton Park District Facebook pages for residents who want to check out the holiday sparkle around town.

Besides bragging rights, contest winners also will receive a commemorative prize and $100 in local gift cards.
