Broadway Star Jessie Mueller to perform at Schaumburg Prairie Center

The Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts is thrilled to announce that Tony Award-winning Broadway star Jessie Mueller will take the stage for a special one-night-only concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 18. This evening marks the grand finale of the Prairie Center’s 2025-26 season of arts and entertainment.

A celebrated performer whose voice and presence have captivated audiences on Broadway and beyond, Jessie Mueller won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her iconic portrayal of Carole King in “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.” She has earned three additional Tony nominations, including one for her starring role as Jenna in Sara Bareilles’s beloved musical “Waitress.” Her acclaimed performances in “Carousel,” “Into the Woods” and “On a Clear Day You Can See Forever” have cemented her reputation as one of Broadway’s most versatile and luminous leading ladies.

Originally from Evanston, Mueller began her career on Chicago stages, where she quickly earned recognition, receiving two Joseph Jefferson Awards before achieving national acclaim on Broadway. Audiences at the Prairie Center will be treated to an intimate evening of music and stories as she performs beloved Broadway classics, songs from her acclaimed stage roles, and personal favorites that highlight her remarkable artistry.

In addition to this extraordinary concert, the evening will also support a vital cause. Guests who purchase VIP tickets will enjoy a postconcert Champagne & Dessert Reception with Mueller, benefiting Season of Concern, which provides emergency financial assistance to Chicago theater artists facing health, housing and other urgent challenges. A limited number of VIP tickets are available for a $50 donation to Season of Concern, in addition to the concert ticket price.

“We are overjoyed to welcome Jessie Mueller for this exciting event” said Eddie Sugarman, Assistant Director at the Prairie Center. “It’s not only a thrilling way to close our season but also a meaningful opportunity to uplift the artists who make Chicago’s theater community so vibrant.”
