Man charged with stealing from Ulta stores in DuPage County

A man on pretrial release in a felony retail theft case has been charged with stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of fragrances from Ulta stores in DuPage County over the last several weeks.

Felix Pitre Romero, 31, of the 4400 block of West Iowa Street, Chicago, is charged with felony burglary, felony retail theft and misdemeanor retail theft.

On Tuesday, DuPage County Judge Brian Telander revoked Pitre Romero’s pretrial release.

Pitre Romero is accused of stealing $1,118 worth of fragrances Nov. 17 at the Ulta store in Oak Brook, $690 worth of fragrances Nov. 16 at the same store, and $874 worth of fragrances Nov. 9 at an Ulta store in Wheaton.

In addition, he is accused of stealing $819 worth of fragrances Nov. 9 from the Nordstrom Rack store in Wheaton; $300 worth of fragrances Nov. 6 at the Oak Brook Ulta store; and $300 worth of items Oct. 29 at an Ulta store in Willowbrook.

Pitre Romero was arrested at an Ulta store in Tinley Park.

According to the petition for revocation, Pitre Romero told police he would sell the items and use the money to support his family in Venezuela.

At the time, he was on pretrial release in a case where he was charged with stealing $432 worth of clothing from Dick’s Sporting Goods in Lombard in February 2024.

His next court date is Dec. 15.
