One pedestrian killed, another injured when vehicle strikes them in West Chicago
One pedestrian was killed and another injured when they were struck by a vehicle Saturday afternoon in West Chicago.
West Chicago police said officers called to the intersection of Main and Washington streets at approximately 1:32 p.m. found two people in the roadway with injuries.
Paramedics from the West Chicago Fire Protection District took them to area hospitals, where one of the victims later died. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the family.
Police said the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrians remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Accident reconstructionists with the Metropolitan Emergency Response and Investigations Team assisted. An investigation is ongoing, police said.
