Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band’s 25th annual fall concert to be ‘As American as Apple Pie’

The Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band will present its 25th annual Fall Concert on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. at Vernon Hills High School, 145 Lakeview Parkway in Vernon Hills. The concert, “As American as Apple Pie,” will feature an evening of contemporary music celebrating the American experience.

Featured pieces during the performance will include “An Outdoor Overture” by Aaron Copland, “Victory at Sea” by Richard Rogers, “New World Symphony“ by Antonin Dvorak, and ”The Music Man” by Meredith Willson.

The Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band, celebrating its 25th year, is one of the premier community bands in Northern Illinois and is a program of the village of Buffalo Grove. The performance is led by its founding Conductor and Music Director Howard Green and Associate Conductor Allison Rakickas.

Tickets are $10 in advance, and $12 at the door; seniors (55 & older) and students with ID are $8. Advance tickets are available for purchase online at vbg.org/bgsbtickets. Tickets can also be purchased at the front counter at Buffalo Grove Village Hall, 50 Raupp Blvd., or from any band member.
