Community joins Marklund residents for ‘Cookies & Kindness’ event

Marklund recently hosted a new event called “Cookies & Kindness” at the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva.

This was a new family-friendly event where community members were invited to stop in to decorate cookies for themselves and create/decorate holiday cards for Marklund residents.

Around 60 people attended, created more than 70 cards for the residents, and enjoyed refreshments and fellowship while coming together in support of Marklund and its care of individuals with severe developmental disabilities.

At its locations in Geneva, Elgin and Bloomingdale, Marklund provides residential services to 178 adults and children with severe and profound disabilities, as well as special education to more than 90 students, and pre-vocational/life skills day services to an additional 28 community clients.
