Celebrating Veterans Day in Fox Lake

Veterans Day is Tuesday, Nov. 11, a day to connect with and commemorate the selfless service of all United States veterans.

On Tuesday, Nov. 11, the Fox Lake American Legion Post 703, will host a memorial ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Fox Lake Train Station, 32 Nippersink Blvd.

Auxiliary volunteers will be distributing poppies throughout the community. Donations received help to support programs for local veterans, military personnel, and their families.

Throughout the school district, students have been raising awareness and participating by writing letters to veterans, creating posters and attending special school assemblies. They have invited veteran alumni, staff and family members back to share their experiences with the students.

Please consider calling a veteran to thank them for their service or inviting them to attend this ceremony on Tuesday.
