Food drive to help Woodridge pantry serve families in need
Community organizations in Woodridge, Downers Grove, Naperville and Bolingbrook will participate in a “Harvest Week” food drive to support the West Suburban Community Food Pantry.
Canned meats, peanut butter, cereal, rice, pasta, canned fruits and veggies will help keep pantry shelves stocked and feed families, children and seniors in need. The Woodridge-based pantry serves about 1,000 households every week through in-person and online markets.
Items can be dropped off during open hours the week of Nov. 2-9, at the Athletic Recreation Center, 8201 Janes Ave., Woodridge; the Downers Grove Park District Recreation Center, 4500 Belmont Road; and the Downers Grove Park District Lincoln Center, 935 Maple Ave.
In Naperville, the First Congregational United Church of Christ is collecting items between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, and Sunday, Nov. 9, at 25 E. Benton Ave. The Naperville Sunrise Rotary will accept items at the Naperville Country Club between 8 to 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at 25W570 Chicago Ave.
