Bloomingdale’s Best Businesses honored at annual Community Choice Awards

Excitement filled the air as the winners of the 2025 Best of Bloomingdale Community Choice Awards were announced to a packed room. Organized by the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce, the ninth annual event on Sept. 25 celebrated the top businesses in the community.

This year saw record-breaking participation from the community, with nominations submitted in August and voting taking place from Aug. 30 to Sept. 7. The winners were chosen through a combination of public votes and a review of questionnaires by a judging panel.

“The energy in the room was exciting with so many local business leaders coming together, supporting each other.” said Cindy Allston, president/CEO of the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce. “With many new faces in the audience which was nice to see. We had some close races, with only a point separating the winner from second place, which adds to the drama of the night. We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate and vote, and to the businesses that donated to our voter raffle, where voters were able to enter a raffle each day of voting. Everyone’s support made this a record-breaking year. Remember to continue supporting our local businesses; they are the ones who give back to your community.”

Beyond just celebrating outstanding businesses, the annual Best of Bloomingdale Community Choice Awards is a powerful marketing and exposure tool for all participants. The event provides a significant platform for both nominees and winners to showcase their business and commitment to the community.

With an incredible 22,300 votes cast, every single nominee received valuable exposure to the community. To give more businesses the chance to win, the awards are organized into 27 specific categories, including multiple categories for restaurants and others based on business size. This structure is designed to create as many winners as possible.

Among the category winners, one business was celebrated as the Best Overall. SP Marketing, Inc. was recognized for its dedication to the community and received the highest combined scores from both votes and the judging panel.

The evening was emceed by two of the community's own: Dr. Aimee Harris-Newon from The Center of Integrative and Functional Health and Wellness, and Nate Olson of HOTWOX Bloomingdale. Both were also nominees themselves, adding a special, local touch to the event.

Any business serving the Bloomingdale community, regardless of its location, was eligible to be nominated.
