Wheaton Fire Department welcomes residents to open house

Wheaton firefighters and paramedics will host a free, family-friendly event at their headquarters station on Sept. 27.

The department’s open house is set for 9 a.m. to noon at Fire Station No. 38 at 1 Fapp Circle, which is behind the Target store near County Farm and Roosevelt roads.

The event is expected to feature hands-on activities, safety demonstrations, including a vehicle extrication exercise, a display of fire department vehicles and equipment, plus an appearance by “Sparky the Fire Dog.”
