Equipment and photo opps at Vernon Hills public works open house

The Vernon Hills Public Works department is hosting an open house for residents to learn about the equipment and skills required to maintain the village's infrastructure.

The free event is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the facility, 490 Greenleaf Drive. Employees from the fleet, forestry engineering and other divisions will be available for a meet-and-greet. Clarke mosquito control’s jet ranger helicopter, Cook Memorial public library bookmobile, Countryside Fire Protection District, the Vernon Hills Park District and others will be on hand.
